Title:Software Testing and Quality Assurance Date:  1st October 2019
Venue:  Class Room- 301 Instructor Name: Mrs. SushreeManSingh
Time: 12:45pm Duration: 1 hour
Audience: TEIT and BEIT Number of Participant:63
Objectives:
  • To check if the system meets the requirements and be executed successfully in the Intended environment.
  • To check if the system is “Fit for purpose”.
  • To check if the system does what it is expected to do.
  • Executing a program with the intent of finding an error.
Methods and Description: Testing is the last step in the software life cycle. Time pressure is well known and increasing because too many defects are found late and have to be repaired. This seminar shows you how to cope with this situation. Early test planning and the use of reviews achieve a high degree of preventive defect removal. Still, at the end you have to execute the tests, in order to measure the final product quality. The ultimate aim, however, is that defects show up during test preparation rather than test execution. Testing can never completely identify all the defects within software. Instead, it furnishes a criticism or comparison that compares the state and behavior of the product against oracles—principles or mechanisms by which someone might recognize a problem. These oracles may include (but are not limited to) specifications, contracts comparable products, past versions of the same product, inferences about intended or expected purpose, user or customer expectations, relevant standards, applicable laws, or other criteria. Every software product has a target audience. For example, the audience for video game software is completely different from banking software. Therefore, when an organization develops or otherwise invests in a software product, it can assess whether the software product will be acceptable to its end users, its target audience, its purchasers, and other stakeholders. Software testing is the process of attempting to make this assessment. Outcomes: Testing during the process of software development has become a necessary activity because of our tendency to make mistake. These mistakes and errors if not identified, evaluated, and rectified during the early stages of development can impact the performance and quality of the software as well as can harm the reputation of the organization it is being developed for. Therefore, with the assistance of testing one can overcome these errors and bugs effectively and make a software that is in compliance with the client’s requirements, company standards, as well as international regulations.

Demonstration of the technique for encryption of the data, including the next node destination IP address, sending it through a virtual circuit comprising successive, randomly selecting Tor relays was done.
  • Each relay decrypted a layer of encryption to reveal only the next relay in the circuit in order to pass the remaining encrypted data on to it. The final relay decrypted the innermost layer of encryption and sent the original data to its destination without revealing, or even knowing, the source IP address. Because the routing of the communication is partly concealed at every hop in the Tor circuit, this method eliminates any single point at which the communicating peers can be determined through network surveillance that relies upon knowing its source and destination.

Outcomes:

  • Students understood how Onion routing is implemented by encryption in the application layer of a communication protocol stack, nested like the layers of an onion.
