In today’s era, Everything is connected everywhere. IoT has become so vital in our daily life and it is going to create a big impact in the near future. For example, solutions can be provided instantly for the traffic flows, reminding about the vehicle maintenance, reduce energy consumption. Monitoring sensors will diagnose pending maintenance issues, and even prioritize maintenance crew schedules for repair equipment. Speaker explained the current and future techniques that can applied with IOT. He extended his speech by giving real life examples of how the devices and things can be connected with IOT.

Cyber security is the practice of defending computers, servers, mobile devices, electronic systems, networks, and data from malicious attacks. Speaker has explained about Cyber security professionals, or information security analysts, have a wide range of responsibilities, but the crux of their job is to protect online data form being compromised. As more of our personal information is stored online, the more important it becomes to step up security.

She also extended her speech on Cyber security careers which are complex and many roles can be found with banks, retailers and government organizations. Also speaker provides many certification curses that can be useful for job.

Cyber crime can be defined as an illegal activity that is related to a computer and any other network operated device. In this type of crime, computer is the main thing used to commit an off sense. The computer technology may be used by the hackers or cyber criminals for getting the personal information, business trade secrets or any other important information for malicious or explosive purposes.

Hacking is identifying weakness in computer systems or networks to exploit its weaknesses to gain access. Example of Hacking: Using password cracking algorithm to gain access to a system

Speaker gives hands on hacking software’s. Also he explained how to protect the devices from different virus attacks.

Students and faculties leaned about different trends in information technology and career opportunities in each aspects such as data science, IOT, Cybersecurity and Hacking technique’s and its countermeasures through this webinar.

Methods and Description:

Students had a visit to Thakur Institute of Aviation Technologyon Thursday, 10^th October 2019.In this advance lab visit they were introduced to VIRTUAL REALITY& AUGMENTED REALITY and how it is made possible.

Firstly, students were made aware of what virtual reality is by showing us a wide range of application of this technology throughout the globe.Many universities like MIT,STANFORD ETC have implemented virtual labs which can help students carry out dangerous experiments in a risk free environment.Students were also made aware as how VR is used ibn automotive and aeronautical sciences how it is used to scan planes and other machines,search for malfunctions etc.

Later, students were made to experience VR first hand. They were made aware of motion trackers,how VR headsets work and what cave technologies is?

Following actual demonstration, students had a entertaining session where theywere made to wear VR headsets and explore a Virtual lab,because of the experiencing VR personally, They understood the application of motion sensors, how they track eye and body movements and how it is projected into the computer a great extent.

This lab visit made us realize how VR tech can help students understand 100% more better ,how smartphones can have virtual labs can be made available to every Student and how it can enhance teaching and learning experience to an another level of greatness.

 Outcomes:

Participants learned the advancement in AR/VR technologies with hands-on experience.

• To create more awareness about cyber legal issues and challenges.
• To provide advice, inputs as also guidance to people on their day-to-day legal issues concerning the use of cyberspace
• To work on research and development on cutting-edge issues and challenges in cyberspace
• To coordinate with other concerned stakeholders in the digital environment so as to contribute to the evolving Cyber law jurisprudence.
• To provide legal assistance and advice to people, who have been affected by misuse of cyberspace and connected services.

Methods and Description:

The cyber cases that are related to interceptions and snooping are increasing at an alarming rate. To put a check on these crimes, quiet frequently the cyber laws are amended.

It is anticipated that more cyber-attacks will be experienced in the next coming years and it is suggested that organizations need to strengthen the data supply chains by improving on the methods of inspection.

The emerging trends of the cyber laws are as follows:

• In order to prevent unauthorized network access, regulatory rules have become more stringent and are followed by many countries and the acts are being declared as the penal offences.
• For regulating the emerging mobile threats and crimes, the cyber-legal systems and administrations are reinforced as desired by the Stakeholders of the mobile companies.
• Another upcoming trend is increasing awareness on the privacy as Google’s chief internet expert Vint Cerf has stated that privacy may actually be an anomaly.
• Added feather to the cap of trends is Cloud computing. By this trend the data flows into the cloud by completely immuring to the cyber-crimes.
• The growth of Bitcoins and other virtual currency is yet another trend to watch out for. Bitcoin crimes are likely to multiply in the near future.

Project Selection Strategies seminar Objective is to motivate and enhance capabilities and technical knowledge of students.

Methods and Description:

The selection of project and its successful implementation is an important decision for aspiring IT professionals as the project defines capabilities of an individual and also the flexibility of an individual to be working as a team. For this very reason, a workshop on project selection and its effective presentation was organized by the Department of Information Technology of Shree L.R. Tiwari College of Engineering.

In this session, the speaker, enlightened students about the importance of project selection right from scratch. He also took the responsibility of making students aware about how a project should be presented and how it can be made effective. Apart from this, he also took the responsibility of imparting knowledge about the project report with its sections and how one can create an effective report with minimal yet sufficient contents.

As he managed to give further knowledge about already known aspects of a project with some tricks, students really liked the session and made the most out of the given opportunity.

The Seminar aims to teach the student with the several tips to crack the interview.

 Methods and Description:

Interviews are your way of impressing your experiences and personality upon an unknown entity. Being fully prepared for an interview, no matter what the position and level is paramount to your success. Preparation helps ease you into a successful interview. It helps relax your nerves and builds confidence as you know that from your side you have done everything you possibly can to be ready for the meeting. Realizing the importance of preparation for an interview, the Department of Information Technology of Shree L. R. Tiwari College of Engineering organized a workshop highlighting the key aspects of an interview and furnishing detailed briefing about the same. The guest speaker for the workshop, Mr. Ashwin Sonawane, a Product Manager representing SQUAD INFOTECH, took great efforts to enlighten students of Third Year IT about how one can be interview ready without worrying and by practicing consistency and having presence of mind. He took it upon himself to share his real life experiences, showcasing his interviews, and also shared detailed interview questions and the answers of one of his best interviews. The session was very interactive as students gained a lot of interest and were asking questions which were answered aptly by Mr. Ashwin Sonawane with great enthusiasm.

All in all the seminar provided insight to all the students about how interviews work and how one can create an impact on the interviewee.

 Objectives: 

This program aims at providing an opportunity for participants to enrich their knowledge and skill in developing various solutions for solving engineering problems in the society. This program serves as a platform for research scholars, faculty, engineers and students to interact on cutting edge technologies in IoT. 

Methods and Description:

Internet of Thing is network of physical objects or “Things” embedded with electronics, software, sensor and network connectivity, which enables these devices to collect and exchange data.

The department of Information Technology of Shree L.R. Tiwari College of Engineering organized a one day workshop sharing the key aspects and features about IOT.

The session was divided in two halves. In the first half, Prof. Ahmed, the guest speaker for the workshop, shared a detailed information about how one should choose an IOT project, and also highlighted the fundamentals i.e. physical thing, actuator/sensor/controllers and internet. He also shared the importance of asking questions like “IS THERE A NEED OF THIS?”, “WILL THIS HELP THE ENVIRONMENT?” before selecting the project topic.

After the students gained a thorough knowledge about how IOT works and how it focuses on the betterment of mankind, Mr. Ahmed took the responsibility of providing students with some practical knowledge about the same. He conducted a Handson Session wherein all the participants were exposed to the practical implementation on what was taught in the theory session. He demonstrated “HOME AUTOMATION USING IOT” using NodeMCU and also encouraged the students to execute the same. His colleagues and he were on the forefront in solving queries and motivating every individual in the room to get a successful output. Apart from this, he demonstrated the use of Google Assistant using Raspberry Pi to control household appliances.  At the end of the session, the participants were satisfied with the flow of the session and the knowledge that they gained through it. 

Outcomes:

With the completion of workshop students has come to know that IoT will be a driver for innovation in all industry sectors andthat the connectivity solutions underlying IoT services and connected devices are manifold

FDP Summary Report

• The Workshop was conducted in Two days with six sessions. In the first day, Basics of Python and Introduction to Machine learning along with Concept of Regression were covered with hands on experiments.
• In second day, Advance packages of ML, SVM, Decision tree, Logistic Regression, Clustering and other unsupervised algorithm were covered.

• Participants learned the basic and advance concepts of Python and Machine learning along with practical implementation.

• The objective of the workshop is to have the participants get started with cross platform application development.
• Focusing on learning one language well and leveraging that across different platforms.
• Coding once and distributing to all the leading mobile devices.
• Participants would get to know intricate nuisance of cross platform apps

2.  To practice mental hygiene.

Celebration of Guru Purnima

Date: 16^th July 2019

Guru Purnima is a religious festival celebrated by Hindus, Jains and Buddhists in respect of their Teachers and Masters. People of India and Nepal celebrate Guru Purnima/Guru. Guru means ‘Teacher’ and Purnima means ‘Full moon’ and both together mark the first peak of lunar cycle. 

Department of Information Technology has celebrated Guru Purnima on 16^th July 2019. Chief Guest Divyaprabha Behen Director of Bramhakumari Organization (North Mumbai Subzone), Joint Secretary Smt. Krishna Tiwari and our beloved Principal Dr. S. Ram Reddy were invited for the occasion. The program Commenced with the prayer “Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwarah Guru Saakshaat Para brahma Tasmai Shri Guruveh Namaha”.

Our Chief Guest has enlightened SE and TE IT students about the Importance of Guru in our day to day life.

She put forward her experience over the years about behavior of students, how they are becoming proud now days, a GURU is losing the importance in their life. It’s very important to inculcate the virtues & human values in students and motivate them to be a good human being before they are best engineer.

National Science Day is celebrated in India on 28 February each year Department of Information Technology has celebrated National Science Day on 28^th February 2019 to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman.

The theme of the year 2019 is “Science for the People and the People for Science”. Department Head Mrs. Deepali Patil has enlightened the importance of national science day. Our Student Punit Solanki has introduced about the importance of science. Then Group discussion on the pros and corns of above theme among the students has been conducted. Department Faculties have judged the Discussion. More than 30 students and teachers have participated in this event. 

Department of Information technology had organized engineer’s day celebration under SLRTCE-CSI Student chapter on 15^th setember 2019.

September 15 is celebrated as ‘Engineers Day’ in India marking the 156^th birth day of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvarayya.

We have started this celebration by giving introduction of engineer’s day, importance of engineering to develop the nation etc. Various technical events like Blind Coding, Code Debugging, Web Designing, Photo Editing, Debate etc. were organized

Total 424 students were participated in various events. The main objective of this event is to motivate and provide a platform for the students to show their talent.

• Students got the brief Idea about Arduino which is an Programming Tool for developing Sensor-based Project such as LDR sensing, Temperature Sensing Mechanism, etc. 
• Training was focused on the Arduino and Rasberry Pi which provides great automation on number of things.
• Students learned how to make Arduino project and different phases to detect the Outcome of the project.
• Students also got a brief idea about Arduino-IDE and Rasberry Pi (Rasbian OS).
• The complete session was up to the mark but expected some more time on Hands-on on both Arduino and Rasberry Pi.
• Time was an essential factor that it didn’t involves such as Hands-on Practical on Rasberry Pi.
• Students got the quick Introduction on How we can implement python project on IoT(Rasbian OS).
• Students were expecting more hands-on on Rasberry Pi involves installation, execution and Deployment.

Objectives:

Methods and Description:

• Onion routing is a technique for anonymous communication over a computer network. In an onion network, messages are encapsulated in layers of encryption, analogous to layers of an onion. Demonstration of the technique for encryption of the data, including the next node destination IP address, sending it through a virtual circuit comprising successive, randomly selecting Tor relays was done.
• Each relay decrypted a layer of encryption to reveal only the next relay in the circuit in order to pass the remaining encrypted data on to it. The final relay decrypted the innermost layer of encryption and sent the original data to its destination without revealing, or even knowing, the source IP address. Because the routing of the communication is partly concealed at every hop in the Tor circuit, this method eliminates any single point at which the communicating peers can be determined through network surveillance that relies upon knowing its source and destination. 

Outcomes:

• Students understood how Onion routing is implemented by encryption in the application layer of a communication protocol stack, nested like the layers of an onion.
